Personal experiences with the name Linnea: | Edit

Since naming my (now) 3-yr-old Linnea, I have met 3 additional "little" Linnea's in the Boston metro area and heard of several adult Linneas, mostly Scandinavian women in their 50s. But everyone I've spoken with has only positive associations with the name.

This is my name and I love it! I live in a largely Scandinavian area of the US and am in my 20's. I know of two other Linneas around my age.

We pronounce my 3-yr-old daughter's name "lin-NAY-a"; most of our European friends say "LIN-ee-a". She now corrects adults who "mispronounce" her name.

Our daughter's middle name is Linnéa. In Sweden, at least, it's pronounced "lin-NAY-ah". :)

My name is Linnea and I get nothing but compliments :) I love it! Many mispronunciations, however!

My Name is also Linnea. I have lived mostly in the south my whole life and have yet to have the priviledge of meeting anyone with my name. I was named after my great grandma however and she was swedish. I love my name and have always had positive things said about it!!!
