My husband and I wanted to recognize my cultural background with a Hebrew or Jewish name, but were not interested in the traditional biblical names (didn't want to give our daughter the same name as any of my first cousins). We looked through Babynamesworld.com for Hebrew names and liked this one the best.

Nicknames for Livana: | Edit

We call her LiLi and Little Vana (she is 10 mo. old). When she is older I could see her being called Liv, Livie or Vanna.

Livana is a Hebrew word, which means the moon and also the color white. My father, a Jewish history buff, claims that Livana also has the same root as the country name Lebanon.
