The name was altered to Lorelei by Clemens Brentano, a German poet. In Germanic legend, Lorelei was a beautiful siren who sat upon a rock in the Rhine River and lured sailors to shipwreck and death.

Really pretty name and unique, anyone named this will probably be the only one in the school called this though there are bound to be some mispronunciations but everybody has to deal with that so i can't see why it would make a difference with this name.
