I love Madelyn, since its my name. But be prepared for people misspelling it like crazy. Madeline, is pronounced Mad-a-line. Madelyn is supposed to be said Mad-a-lynn. But people never seem to get it right.
I think people went overboard on the name Madison, and started using Madelyn as an alternative. Madelyn is an old name that has become very popular due to the overuse of the name Madison.
- Personal experiences with the name Madelyn: | Edit
My name is Madelyn and I was born in the year 2000, when my parents named me it was very uncommon to be spelled with -lyn but it has gotten very popular recently. I like my name but the nickname Maddie is very popular and my name is misspelled a lot, but otherwise I think Madelyn is timeless and ages well. I recommend this name greatly!
