My parents spelled my name Michaela and pronounced it Ma shay la- I have never met anyone with the same pronunciation-
My parents picked my name last minute and wasn't sure how to pronounce it, the nurse said it was Michella. In elementary school the Irish nurse called me Michael-a and some people call me Michael by mistake. Ever since there has been debate over the pronunciation until Dr. Quinn came along and cleared things up. I love the name now and am teased about being just like Dr. Mike, headstrong and vocal.
One of my closest friends is named Michaela pronounced Mi kel la. I used to call her "Michael with an a" when we were kids because i couldn't remember how to say her name. It wasn't until recently that I've heard it as Mi kay la
One of my friends is named Michaela, but she prefers to go by Kayla.
My sister's middle name is Michaela, we pronounce it like Mikayla. She was named that because our dad's name is Michael.
