As a Nordic name most popularly used in Denmark, the name "Michala" is a form of the name "Michaela" which is also derived from the name "Michael" also pertaining to the Archangel.

But then "Michala" could possibly be seen in Hebrew as a variant of the feminine Hebrew name "Michal" which means "brook." Therefore, it's safe to say that this name means "Who is like God?" as well as possibly interpreted as "brook."
