Apparently, Miley Cyrus doesn't like that her name has become trendy:
http://www.babynamewizard.com/archives/2008/12/celebrity-naming-from-the...If you name your kid this, beware that everyone will think that you named her after Miley Cyrus (which you probably did) and the only person you'd ever be able to convince otherwise would probably be your 90-something-year-old grandmother who hasn't made it past her driveway in more than 20 years.
- Personal experiences with the name Miley: | Edit
My husband wanted to name our daughter Miley and for about 6 months i didnt want to because of that one reason: Miley Cyrus. I did like her at one time, but when she put those pictures on the net and started dressing like she did then i completely changed my mind about her. Although, i do still like that song The Climb. Eventually, though, i gave in and let him name her that cause it is a pretty name and he had liked that name ever since he was like 15(he's 31 now). That was my biggest wory about naming her that because people might think i actually named her after her, but people that know me and my husband will know the truth. I also gave her two middle names, Michelle(mine) and Gayle(My mother-in-law), so when she gets older she can use a different name if she wants to.

When Destiny Hope Cyrus was a toddler, her dad nicknamed her "Smiley Miley." The Miley part stuck. As the teen star of "Hannah Montana" Cyrus chose Miley as her legal name, and scores of parents followed suit for their daughters. This name hews to the sound of androgynous surnames like Riley, but it's all girl.
