- Personal experiences with the name Minnie: | Edit
My daughter is named Minnie. One meaning for it was 'wished for child' which she was and so it felt lovely for her to grow up with that meaning behind her name. I loved all the old fashioned names but my husband just didn't take to any other than Minnie. Now she is two years old and her name is so sweet and i never get tired of hearing it. Lots of people make the obvious comments... 'minnie.. as in minnie mouse?' It never bothers me that some people make that connection, to me she has made the name her own.
She'll probably get teased a lot when she goes to school. Kids will automatically think of Minnie Mouse when they hear her name!
And then there's Minnie the Mermaid.
