Personal experiences with the name Misty: | Edit

During my parents' honeymoon at a lake cabin, they watched the sun come up over the mist on the lake and decided to name their first daughter (my older sister) Misty. I always thought her name was very sweet and romantic because of the beautiful story attached to it.

My parents were at a wedding together, and my mom was pregnant and still hadn't picked a name, when the band at the reception played the song "Misty" by Johnny Mathis. My dad decided right then and there that would be my name. A beautiful love song from the '50s to the '70s.

My mother's favorite song was "Misty" by Johnny Mathis. She decided she was going to name her first daughter Misty. That's where I got my name! :) People always ask me if I've heard of the "Play Misty for Me" Clint Eastwood movie, and I tell them I've heard of it but never seen it...but that I'm actually named after the song used in the movie. Once they hear that, they automatically guess my age. haha
