This probably won't help tip people in the choice of this name but I love it and think its a great name, my dog is actually named Mitzy. I prefer this spelling over the Mitzi spelling. My dog is a Chinook (an Alaskan breed) and as we tell everyone, she picked out her name herself. My mother and I spent the morning after I got her (and the night of) trying to think of a name for her and calling out everything in the book we could think of, even names we didn't care for. My Mother called out Mitzy and she sat up and wagged her tail, I went out of the room and used it and she came right to me. We tried variations on it, Missy, Misty, Mimsy, she wouldn't answer to any of them, she only answered to Mitzy so thats what her name came to be. But please don't let the fact that I used it for a pet's name deter you if you like it for your baby girl, its a lovely name and it would be so cute on a baby girl.
