I think I'm the first person to name my baby girl Nai`a but it's definitely catching on. I've noticed a lot of girls younger than my daughter being called this name lately but some spell it different ways, Nia, Niya, Naya and Niha. All the same pronunciation. Until we encounter a girl with this name who is older than my daughter we'll consider her to be the first Nai`a. NAI`A #1! :D

Nai`a is the Hawaiian word for dolphin. I named my daughter Nai`a because she was conceived during a time in my life when I used to swim with dolphins almost everyday
