I never went to school or worked with another Nancy. growing up in the 70's and 80's...Jennifer and Michelle were popular names. But, what I find most interesting about the name Nancy is ...even though you are almost always the only Nancy, unless there is a 100 year old in the room....it is still not an uncommon name...everyone knows it but yet they know no one named Nancy...which makes it a rad name.

In my experience, people named Nancy are quick-witted, gregarious, and full of energy. They have strong personalities, and speak their minds, but most of all they like to have fun.

My mother's name is Nancy and she is over 50. It's fine for her generation but it's definitely not one you'd want to give a little one these days.
My parents named me Nancy and I never met anyone my age with this name- only moms and teachers. I didn't particularly appreciate the name until I became older and it was nice to know that I am usually the only Nancy friends will meet. The terms negative-nancy and nancy-boy are pretty annoying though.
I was looking at a website about weird names, and it mentioned a couple whose last name was Cianci, named their daughter Nancy Ann. Say the whole name out loud. You'll laugh your head off.
Maybe Nancy is a little outdated today, but it's not like Gertrude, Mildred, or Bertha!
