Funny - my father also chose my name after seeing the film "War and Peace". What also amuzing is that my father is Mexican and my mother Ukrainian. So, my name reflected my heritage (sort of).
I also hated my name when I was younger and wished I had a "normal" name like Kathy or Mary. I grew to love my name and mostly go by Natasha. My close family friends call me Natty or Nat.
- Personal experiences with the name Natasha: | Edit
*My name is Natasha. My father is the one who chose my name. Funny story, because he heard of the name while watching tv in the waiting room of the hospital. There was a Russian gymnast on named Natasha and he thought it was a pretty name. I use to hate my name as a kid because it was so different and no one had it. I grew up being called Tasha by some, but preferred Tosh. Once I was in my late teens I started to love me name and how unique it was! I've been told by so many people how pretty it is and even "sexy" :)
When i was younger, i used to hate my name..thought it had too many 'a' in it...but now i look at my name and think how beautiful it is...most of my friends call me tash, but at work, im always natasha...
I love my name! Natasha is recognizable and easy to pronounce, but isn't too common. I've never had to go by Natasha (lastinitial). When I was young, I went by Tasha, but now go by Natasha. There are plenty of nicknames options!
