Pronounced Nee-La or NI-la with a long I.
- Personal experiences with the name Nila: | Edit
I am 18 years old and my name is Nila after my Grandmother. Personally I love my name. It's classic, unique and pretty sounding, and not very common. The only person I have ever heard of with the name Nila is my Grandmother. The only problem I have with the name is people get it wrong all the time! My name is pronounced like NI-la with a long I but people tend to pronounce it like NÉE-la, which is the most annoying thing. Even worst some people pronounce it Nilla, like the Nilla Wafer cookies. Also if people pronounce it correctly they tend to spell it like Nyla with a y. Other then people getting it wrong all the time, I rather like my name. Side note my nickname is Narly or Narly Boo, but I have been called Nila Bean.
