My toddler's name is Paisley Raye, and we absolutely love it. It fits her perfectly. We get a LOT of comments on it because it is so different. We call her Pais for short.
I'm a woman and my name is Paisley. I was born in 1978, so a lot of people ask me if my parents were hippies. (They're not...haha) My father chose it. He said he wanted me to have a name that no one else had but that wasn't so odd that people had trouble pronouncing it and wasn't so unusual that it didn't seem like a name. I think he and my mother succeeded in that. I've always loved my name and the unique identity that came with it.
We named our toddler Paisley Faye (^^ great minds!) and we just love it. It's never been misspelled or mispronounced. She gets Pay-pay, Paize, Paye-Faye for nicknames.
My 6 year old daughter is named Brooke Paizlie! I named her that because her father didn't like Paisley as a first name! It is beautiful. a year after i had my daughter, another dim-witted girl in my same small town named her daughter Brooke Paisley & coincidently their last names both start with T. I was really proud of my daughter's very original name but there is always those who cannot be original. I was glad i had altered the spelling of Paisley at least.

The name Paisley comes from a town in Scotland that made the Indian/Persian design we know today as "paisley" famous with shawls woven in their textile mills during the 1800s. Since this pattern had its roots in the cottage industries of Paisley Abbey, it is interesting to note the word "Paisley" itself is a Scottish derivation of the Greek word, "Basilica" meaning "church".
