I was named after the Phedre overture. My mother was a music major and said that it was the prettiest piece of music that she ever heard, and if she ever had a daughter that she would name her Phedre.
I named my daughter Phaedra in part after the alter-ego of the protagonist in the novel "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" (feminine of Phaedrus), which also involved a dream. I wanted something beautiful, unique and not weird for her... score!
