The "RE" sound in Regan is so unappealing to me. Shakespeare got it right with this one.
The "RE" is pronounced "RAY". My sister's name is Regan and we pronounce her name Ray-gin (hard G). She hates to be called Ree-gan. By the way, she has an awesome personality and is super smart (4.0 Chemistry major in college, Masters in Education).
The "RE" isn't always pronounced "RAY." There are many Regans out there who prefer Ree-gan, not Ray-gun. I think most people who like Ray-gun spell their name Raegan or Reagan (like the former president).
