Rie is a common Japanese name. It's usually mis-pronounced as a name that rhymes with 'Pie' or 'Rye', but it's actually pronounced like the Greek goddess of earth, 'Rhea'--with emphasis on the 'Rii' sound and ending with a soft 'eh' at the end.
I'm so used to people mis-pronouncing my name all the time, I answer to five forms of my name 'Ria', 'Ray', 'Ree', 'Rye', and 'Rii'. It's really tough to live with an unusual name, but I truly am proud of it--it's a gorgeous name and I love it.
