Rosemarie Name Meaning & Origin
Origin of the name Rosemarie:
Combination of the names Rose (horse; rose) and Marie. The name became popular at a time when flower names were coming into use, and it might therefore have originated as a borrowing of the name of the herb rosemary, which is derived from the Latin ros marīnus (dew of the sea).

This is my little sister's name--she is a kind, beautiful and gentle soul.
My mom's name is Rosemarie but she gets mad because people sometimes say Rosemary instead of Rosemarie, sometimes even her own mother! So she mostly goes by Rosie.
My name is Rosemarie. I'm 14 and I was born in 2001. I go by Rose to my friends and by Rosemarie to family. Yes, I have an old name, but I think its very pretty. Whenever I tell someone my name they say it's beautiful. I don't mind when people I just met call me Rosemary, but when someone that I've known forever calls me the wrong name, it kinda bothers me. I just subtly correct them
My father thought that Rosemarie was too proper a name to call a baby so instead called me Pooh Bear. As I am older I hate to be called Rosemarie but love to be called Bear. Basically whatever name you choose for your child they will love the name you use affectionately even if it isn't on their birth certificates. Also Rosemarie is so long to write but Bear in done in half a second.
