I'm Australian and my name is Shayna. While I have grown to appreciate an out-of-the-ordinary name (at least here in AUS) it has been very trying as a young girl. People took one look at my name and decided they couldn't pronounce it. I got Shane, Sharna, Sharnie, Shaun, Shana, Shay, Sheena and plenty more. Very few people get my name right the first time. It did teach me patience though...
