Personal experiences with the name Siddalee: | Edit

I first came across the name Siddalee in the Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood and fell in love with it. Since I don't have children (human, that is), I named my dog this. Sidda's goal in life is to protect humanity from the tyranny of the chipmunk's that live in our backyard. So, my husband and I tell people Siddalee means "great chipmunk huntress."

I gave birth to a beautiful little girl named Siddalee Jo Ann in January!!! We adore her and adore old sounding and unusual names. Honestly when she was born and we finally saw her there was no doubt in our minds that no other name would suit her!!!

I have a little girl her name is Siddalee she is 5 years now but when i seen the when i watched the movie Divine Secrets of the Yaya SisterHood i fell in love with the name so i had to name my daughter siddalee. She is a beautiful little girl.

Meanings and history of the name Siddalee: | Edit

I've looked over the internet and the closest I can come to a real meaning for this name is something along the lines of perfect meadow... Closest name to Sidda is Siddha, which is Sanskrit and of Indian origin - its traditionally a male name - pronounced sid-uh, it means perfected or accomplished; Sidda could (based on the movie, think of Sidda's career and how accomplished she was being interviewed in Time mag) be a variance of the Sanskrit/Indian masculine Siddha. Lee, which is English and of Gaelic origin - its used as both a male and female moniker - it means clearing or meadow... but of course its always up to personal interpretation since there seems to be no actual name or meaning prior to the movie Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood...
