Origin of the name Anastasia:
Feminine form of the Greek Anastasios (of the resurrection), a derivative of anastasis (resurrection). The name was borne by a daughter of Czar Nicholas II. I knew a girl named Tacy while going to middle and high school in the late 70's/early 80's. She's the only person I have met in my lifetime with that name. It's a pretty name without being too much of a mouthful. I would think that it would be a better girl's name today then it was then. The name Tracy was VERY popular with girls my age, so you can only imagine how often her name was mispronounced/misspelled.
