the girl's name Téa is pronounced TAY-ah..
it can be spelt Téa or Taya.- Personal experiences with the name Tea: | Edit
My name is Tea and people always call me tea as in the drink and tia, i always have to tell people that it is pronounced as Tay-ah. It can get very frustrating. I am also always commented on how nice my name is which makes me smile.
My mum saw the spelling that we were thinking of using for our daughter, which is the traditional Tea (with the accent on the 'e') and she looked at and didn't know how to say it. So we told her how, and she frowned and said 'no one will know how to say it spell it phonetically'. So, I spelled it Tayah, and guess what... I get asked all the time, 'how do you say that?' and when I say it is like 'Tea' with the accent they ask 'why didn't you just spell it that way?' yeah... Thanks mum! oh well, it was an interesting excersize for me to come up with a different spelling.
I named my daughter Tea'. It's said like Tia. But spelled with a accent on the 'a' instead of the 'e'. She gets call Tea all the time. But she just corrects them. She and her friends LOVE her name!
