I saw the name as a dedication in the front of a childrens' book once - the writer was Croatian. I really liked the sound of it. An internet search gave the meaning of this name as 'SILENT'

I would just like to add something on the previous comment. The name is actually of the Serbian origin, more exactly it has been found in the old Serbo-Slavic testament. While the stem -meaning of the name can be translated into 'SILENT', another more applicable meaning would have to be 'TACIT'.

'TIJA-' from 'TIHA' = quiet, silent, tacit. The TIHA-na has through time come to be TIJA-na. There's a rule in Serbian Grammar that allows for it.
The pronunciation of Tijana is correct if we substitute the sound 'J' with the sound 'Y' in Anglo languages, but is also sometimes treated as a name with the silent 'J'. However, the incorrect accentuation of the name becomes more likely with the latter rule. Namely, the correct accentuation is on the last letter Tijan-a- and not on the Tija'na fourth letter as is more commonly assumed. Alternatively, the name should be pronounced as TI-JA-NA but as quick as possible between the vocals!
