So it's my name, and I kinda like it, but I absolutely hate it when my mother would go "Oh Til-lie, I need you" in a stupid sing-song voice because I knew it meant something bad, and to this way it grates my nerves. Anytime I introduce myself, people have a general list of names that they run through that phonetically sound like my name, like Millie, Lily, Kelly, and sometimes I get "silly?" accompanied with a highly confused expression. Everyone always wonders if my full first name is Tillie, or if it's short for something, or if I'm going by my middle name. Nope. Just Tillie. The follow up question is then, "Well, what's your middle name?" It's Lynn. My name is Tillie Lynn. I get compliments that my name is pretty and unique, and it makes me happy, but it's also a frustration finding a pre-made keychain with my name in it, lol.
I knew a girl in college who started a club with a group of girls, and they all had ridiculous names for themselves and called each other by those names. She was Tillie Titless and another girl in the group was Bertha Boobs.
I once worked with a lady whose name was Thelma, and everybody called her Tillie. I also know Tillie is a nickname for Matilda.

Since Tillie is kind of a nickname already, it's difficult coming up with nicknames, but some of mine have included simply "T", or in middle school, a few of my friends called me "TillBill" which was fun. Some friends now call me "Till", but most just stick with Tillie. Two syllables, pretty easy.
