I first stumbled upon this name in a book of international love poems. The person upon whom the writer's affections were fixated was named Timarion. I thought it was simply beautiful. This name, in today's world, strikes me more as a female sounding name, so I placed it in that category. However, the character in satire, named Timarion, is male. I feel it could be for either sex.

I work at a University and coaxed a friendly old scholar to see if they could find me a meaning for this name. It's old, and it has latin roots. He said the -ion makes the name "diminuitive" and so his best translation of the meaning was "honored little one". Nice huh?

Famous real-life people named Timarion: | Edit

I don't know, but I just found one person on Myspace claiming it's their given name. I have YET to find "Timarion" in ANY child naming database.
