- Personal experiences with the name Valerie: | Edit
I am in my 20's and have mixed feelings about my name. Most people say it is a beautiful name. From Kindergarten to 12th grade, there was only 1 other Valerie in my entire schools. I never got mixed up among the Britney's and Emily's, so that was nice, but it might be a little too uncommon. It is hard for others to remember and spell. Everyone thinks my name is Vanessa, Victoria, or Mallory. It is never spelled correctly either - both are annoying but nothing I can't deal with. Nickname is Val for those who get tired of saying the whole thing. Overall, I enjoy my name, it's me. I'm Valerie :)
Almost everyone I meet tells me what a beautiful name I have.
It's a bit annoying how people always misspell the name. People either think it's spelled Valery or Valeri. And when you talk to them sometimes they even think you said Malorie.
My best friend's little sister is named Valerie. She always gets comments about how beautiful it is. It is definitely an unique
name.My daughters name is Valerie, and she's 12 years old. I've always loved the name Valerie because I think it sounds smart, strong, intelligent, and fun. Plus there is the nickname Val, which is very cute for her. She has never disliked her name, as far as I know, and it suits her well, as she is very unique and down to earth. Plus shes one of the only Valerie's we know, so she stands out in a crowd.
I'm a Valerie, and I've always really liked my name. It's uncommon enough that I was almost always the only one in my school with the name, but common enough that everyone has heard of it. People do sometimes think it's spelled "ValArie", which is odd, because I've never actually met anyone who spells it that way. It's never been a difficulty, though.
