This is the Spanish form of Zoe.

Sorry, I don't really agree. My mother is named Zoila and her father who picked her name always said it was a Greek name. He loved to read ancient greek literature and said that he got the name from greek writer named Zoilo and he just femalized it by using putting an A at the end instead of the O. I could be wrong, but given the fact that he named all his children (Popea, Ligia & Vinicio) with some sort of reference to Greek literature I think it holds water that he named his last and youngest Zoila in the same trend. So I'd have to say the name is Greek not Spanish.
