today i met a 14 year old girl with such a perfectly lovely and seemingly on trend name: Beatrice Rosalie.
later in the day, i overheard a woman speaking to her children, in the booth next to us in a restaurant, Jordan (b), and Annabelle, both under age 5, it looked like.

At the beach on Monday, I met a little girl (about 18 months) named Beatrix, and overheard a slightly older girl (about 5 or 6) being called Beatrice. It seems to be enjoying something of a stealth renaissance around here. (I just checked NameVoyager: Beatrix has never been in the top 1000, and all varieties of the name fell off the chart circa 2005, and are barely on it now.)
Beatrice Rosalie is lovely.
I met my first Mabel today! She just turned one.

at work, when i told some co-workers about the Beatrice encounter, they reacted negatively toward the name, saying it was frumpy, which surprised me. i like it.
