For a boy, I prefer Beckett.  Kessel just sounds weird to me for some reason.

For a girl, I have to admit neither option is really my style.  I don't care for Beckett for a girl, especially with the middle name Reid.  It seems very masculine, much more so than the unisex style names of your daughters.  Paxtyn is OK, but I think I'd prefer a simpler spelling.  Paxton perhaps? It also reads pretty masculine though.

Boy suggestions: Ashton, Bennett, Kyler, Reid in the first position

Girl suggestions: Marlowe, Emerson, Finley, Ellery, Peyton

it's a boy...still no name.   Manziel Reid Murphy (pronounced Man-zel) or Beckett Reid Murphy

Congratulations! I prefer Beckett--very handsome. I've never seen Manziel and don't really know what to make of it. Is it from a different language, or did you just make it up?

Manziel ia the surname of Johnny Manziel, otherwise known as Johnny Football, who was a quarterback for Texas A&M, won the Heisman Trophy as a freshman, and was just drafted by the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League.  He also has a record of minor legal and disciplinary scrapes.  Frankly, Manziel wouldn't be my choice for a name, unless I was a diehard Aggie fan.  I would prefer Becket(t).

Oh! I think my husband (a big sports fan) was just talking to me about him, though clearly the name didn't stick. He described him as probably the most obnoxiously entitled rich kid in college football.

Even if he didn't already have a not-so-sterling reputation, I wouldn't recommend naming after a person with so much of his career still ahead of him. You have no idea what kind of reputation he will have in ten years' time. He could totally flame out and become a laughingstock like Tim Tebow, or he could go to jail on dogfighting charges like Michael Vick, or he could be accused of rape like Ben Rothlisberger--who knows?

Yes, I agree with all of this.  But even before I knew who he was, my preference was still Beckett.

I think Kessel, Beckett, and Manziel are all nice names. Just choose the one that seems to fit your baby best.

Congratulations on the birth of your boy.
