Beans Balawi

My husband and I were watching a movie last night (Lark Rise to Candleford) and in the credits we noticed a very interesting name, even for the BBC.

Beans Balawi.

I googled him and it looks like the last name is actually El-Balawi and might be Arab, though the child is very fair skinned with light hair.

 

But Beans? Where does that come from?

perhaps a pseudonym?  a lot of child actors use one for privacy.  Frances Bean Cobain got her name because her parents thought she looked like a bean in her sonogram.  Maybe it's something like that?

also the name bean is becaue when he wa little he slept in a bean baag so my parents named him beans

Sounds like a nickname that he's using for his stage name.
