Boy Name Help
I am 28 1/2 weeks pregnant with our first child, a boy. I didn't think that naming this baby would be that hard. Up until I got pregnant, we loved the name Noah. Now, for whatever, reason, neither of us like it and aren't sure why. We have been talking about a name for this baby for months. We were told at 11w6d that it was a boy. 17 weeks later, we still haven't decided on a name and I'm getting antsy.
My name is Ashley. As an Ashley, I don't want our children to have literally 13 other Ashleys in their class/grade/whatever. My husband's name is Richard Edward, and he is a Junior. We do not want a III. He and his dad go by Ricky. My husband's childhood nickname is Bo, after the Dukes of Hazzard Bo. Family and family friends still call him Bo. Our last name is Caldwell.
Our two frontrunners are Jackson and Micah. We both love Jackson, but are hesitant because of it's popularity and I have a 14-year-old 3rd cousin that we see on holidays named Jackson, and a friend with a 5 year old named Jackson. I'm pretty sure that my cousin and his wife would not mind if we named our son Jackson, too (and we would ask beforehand to make sure). I don't know any Micahs, but I don't like the way Micah Caldwell sounds. I like names that can potentially be shortened into a nn (i.e.: Jackson could be Jack).
This is the list that we came up with originally to give you an idea of our style. As you can see, it's all over the place.
We are open to other suggestions. Or do you think we should go with Jackson since we're so drawn to it?
