Changing my name, want thoughts & opinions!

For the record, My name is : (ugh) Laura. it is a name my Mother "heard somewhere and liked". My Pop, worn out from naming wars, gave in. neither of my parents EVER loved my name. and now that they're both gone, I want to change my name to the name my mother loved beyond reason: Rosamel. It was my G Grandmother's name, and I've been told I look like her, all my life.

I've got two combos that I equally adore but want opinions on them. My surname is MacK...ie for privacy issues. So keep that in mind, please.

The combos are:

Rosamel India Caroline (initials rMi)

Rosamel Romilly Elinor (initials rMr)

Caroline was one of my Grandmother's sisters and the latter is what my mom wanted to name me originally. I dislike Eleanor & only like Elinor but Romilly is a place in France where my family (on my Pop's side) came from last before America. So...

What do you think and which combo would you choose for me?

In the absense of any special stories surrounding India or Elinor, I would probably go with Rosamel Romilly Caroline or just Rosamel Romilly, which has a pretty pleasing alliteration to my mind.

Middle names aren't used much, and if you are already an adult I would expect them to be used even less, so I would go with whichever names make you happiest and have the most meaning to you. If Rosamel is a name from your mother's side, I particularly like Romilly for you as it represents your father's side.

On a purely aesthetic basis, both your combos nice and balanced. I think it's a matter of taste. There are a lot of repeating sounds in Rosamel Romilly Elinor...it's almost as though you are taking one name and riffing on it, and then taking that one and riffing on it. Personally I really like that, but some people will likely prefer the more balanced sounds and rhythms of Rosamel India Caroline (though even there you have a bit of internal rhyme on the IN-dia CarolINE).

tl;dr. I would go with Rosamel Romilly.

Thanks, but there are stories for India & Elinors well. India I've been to and probably should have stayed and never come home. Elinor, honors a familial (Mom's side) Elin. A cousin who died when I was 18. A lovely, Lovely lady.

First, congratulations! Rosamel is such an exciting name and that's such a lovely story about how you came to pick it. I'm really happy for you that the first name choice is such an obvious and fantastic choice!

I really like Rosamel Romilly Elinor best. Not only do I have vague issues with India as a given name given how tied it is to British Colonialism, but I really like the sentiment of honoring your cousin.

I really adore Rosamel Romilly Elinor. I may be a bit biased though, as I'm all for alliteration, and I've always adored Elinor. Rosamel India Caroline is sweet too, but I don't really care for Caroline. Either way you go, though, it'll be a great choice, and a beautiful way to honour your family. Good luck!

Thanks  @Crimson! I'm a fan of the alliteration of Rosamel Romilly Elinor too and I'm almost postive that's what I'll be going with.
