Color names for boys

My sister is currently pregnant with twins and she is trying to go with a color theme. Her first baby is a girl named Scarlet, and one of the twin names is likely to be Greyson. The second baby she would like to have a "grey" name if possible. Thanks for any help!

So, she's having two boys?

I think Sterling is an excellent suggestion.

I'm not a twin, and I know there is a whole range of opinion on this subject, but most of the twin moms I know stress the importance of treating them as individuals. Thus, I like the idea of a name like Sterling which goes with the theme, but in a subtle way. It's also a great name that works well with Scarlet and Greyson.

Clay might be a possibility...but it's a little rhyme-y.

Lloyd means grey.

She's not sure on one of the babies, but she has already chosen Violet if the baby is a girl.

It seems i was beaten to it! Sterling is a fantastic suggestion - one of my absolute favourite names, but one that sounds silly with my surname, so I love to see others use it.

Lloyd is another great suggestion from JnH'sMom.

Food for thought: if you give them different colour names, it will be easier to colour code and differentiate all their stuff.

This very day I heard a reference to a man named Steel, so I'll throw that in the pot.

I was thinking about Asher or Ashton and then using Ash as a nickname (as in Ash gray)... Because Grey will also be a nick name.

She really loves Sterling (that was the name her and I had chosen previously with much satisfaction,) but her DH shot it down surprisingly fast. Thank you for the suggestions so far, I'll let her know. I really like the Steel and Ashton suggestions!

Blaine (yellow)

Russell (little red one)

Irving (green water)

Indigo (blue-purple dye)

Blake (black or pale)

Auburn (reddish)

Slate (grey mineral)

Jett (black)

Raven (black)

Viridian (blue)

Roan (reddish)

Or or just Ash, on its own.

Viridian is one of those blue-green colors, more green than blue, I would call it teal-ish, less green perhaps than jade.  A very pretty color....

Rory, Azure, Amber, Ivory, Hazel, Tanner, Rusty, Goldie, Saffron, Indigo, Ruby, Emerald, Bianca, Blanche, Heather, Sage.  I also know a little boy named Stone (which was his mother's maiden name).  Stones are also grey.  How about Clara or Clarence?  Does "clear" count as a color?

I've gotta say, I'm not actually liking most of these names!  Would a name evocative of a color count? I'm thinking Sylvan (or Silvia). But my faves would be Sage (unisex) and Bianca.  Both color names, but the link is subtle.

Despite my general opposition to matchy-matchy names, Scarlet, Indigo, and Violet is quite a colorful combo.

Well, if the baby is a girl, she is definite on Violet as the name. She likes the -let ending with both names. I've told her the suggestions (thank you everyone,) but they're not completely feeling any of them. I mentioned Wyatt in the sense it kind of sounds like white. It's just a battle for them at this point to find a name, but they still have time.
