"Dateline" Anchor Needs a Nickname for Baby #6

I was watching the "Today" show this morning, and saw a piece about a woman who does stories for "Dateline." She is the mother of five, all girls: Anna, Charlie, Kiki, Georgia, and Elle. At 46, she and her husband George Anthony II, who goes by Tony, are now expecting baby #6, their first boy. So he will be named George Anthony III. But she does not know what they will actually call him. He has a big sister named Georgia and a dad called Tony. What should they call him? Could it be different at home, where he shares names, than at school, where maybe he could be George.

Their story felt like a classic case of thinking you're done and using certain names special to your family, but then deciding to have more. (She said that the pregnancy is intentional, deciding to try one last time for a boy before "the window closed.") Knowing that a boy would always be GA III, they obviously thout four was enough, and gave girl #4 Georgia. I'm going to use them as an example when lecturing to people. ;-)

Maybe could use first initial and surname initial eg gt, gc etc or NN ant, Anth, Anthony, Trey means third

It's George Anthony Bancroft, so GAB. ;-) Or "gee-bee."

GAB could easily get to Gabe.

My vote would be for Trey.

If Dad goes by Tony, how about another variant of Anthony? Anton was my first thought. Or what about Grant - GeoRge ANThony. Or switch some of the letters around to get Gage or Grey?

Trey or Tripp are the obvious call names. Or Terty (short for tertius, Latin for "the third").

Andy could work, though it's a little close to Anna.

Or of course they could just call him Tony. After all, at home Dad is called Dad, not Tony.

So, Trey and Tripp are "third" signifiers? Ok. I'll be interested to see what they pick.

Trey was my first thought, also Ant, Anthony, Gino,  or he could end up with a NN like Chip.

The dad joked about how he didn't care about the gender, he was just glad to have an eighth family member so they could have two sets of four for all the golfing they do. Sooooo Chip (off the ole block) sounds right down their alley.

My mother would call him "Bingo", as in "ah ha, the last piece we need to complete the set!" I would definitely riff on the Anthony segment, just to minimize any feelings that he somehow deserves Georgia's name more than she does. I like the suggestion of Anton. (Hopefully they don't have Georgia Antonia or Elle Antonia!)

Ive always loved the name Trenton,Tallinn, Bryce, &  benson. a good friend of mine just had a baby an she named him Cash. I was so against it but it’s ultimately her decision. Although I know your looking for a nick name to match with your husbands name and his nickname I love Jork. also here are other nicknames for George:Joel, Georgio, Giorgi, & Gordy. I had a few on the list so I hope it helps. Good luck &  congratulations on your new baby boy
