Glad I caught that beforehand

In discussing names for our future children, Husband and I liked the idea of using his grandmother's name, Rena, as a mn. His family is almost all of Danish- and Norwegian-descent, so we've discussed Freya for a daughter.

After saying it aloud a few time, I realized that Freya Rena quickly becomes Frey Arena. Glad I caught that.

What names did you almost use before catching a name issue?

My maiden name sounds very much like E. Lee. Not a problem until my parents discussed naming my younger brother Robert!

Not me personally but a friends parents almost named him Christopher Robert Andrew P. Initials CRAP. They pulled one of the middle names. Just reversing them gets you CARP.

We really wanted Alexander Stephen for our son, but our last name starts with an "S". He ended up Alex@nder J@mes. :-)

My best friend's last name is Player. Her parents had planned on naming her Amanda Lynn. Until they said the entire name together- Amanda Lynn Player. So they quickly choose something different, and named her Tiffanie.

Sadly, something I did NOT catch before bestowing were my daughters initials. Now of course I can't change the last one but she ended up being NRA. Did I ever tell you how much I loathe the concept of guns? Luckily, its never been a subject of distinct notice by anyone.

Oops! Our daughter was almost EMS, which would have been funny simply because I'm a nurse...

We liked the name Anne Marie for our daughter but when said out loud it's hard to distinguish from Anne Murray.
