Having a hard time choosing a name!

My husband and I are expecting our first child, a little boy, due Oct 31. We have a list that we've narrowed it down to but cannot decide on a final decision. I think I'm having a hard time settling because I was really hoping to find a name that started with a J (my brother passed away, his nickname was JP so was hoping to use same nickname for baby). We were both pretty set on the middle name of Paul because it has lots of family ties on both sides but I'm not sure it will work with all of the names we've chosen. If anyone has some suggestions of names that start with a J in similar styles or particularly love one of the names or hate one of the names with Paul as the middle name that would be great!

We don't really want super popular names but also want something that people have heard of before. Also, if it helps, before we knew we were having a boy we had girl names narrowed down to Alyse (sister's middle name) and Ruby with the middle name of Jeanne (grandmothers names).

Thanks in advance!

Hunter

Maddox

Paxton

Ryder

Grayson

You have a good list; my favorites are Grayson, Holden, and Cameron. I don't particular like the sounds of Holden Paul but I think it is okay with the other two.

My least favorites are Maddox, Paxton, and Ryder, they just aren't my style and don't think the first two sound very good with Paul.

good luck and sorry about your brother.

You seem to have a pretty modern style with lots of surnames on your list. Some J suggestions: Jett, Jensen, Jarrett, Jameson, Jagger, Jasper.

Theyre probably not your style, but my favorite J names for boys are Jude and Judah.

It seems you like boy names that end in "n" or "r" so how about the "J" names Jackson, Jepson or even Jetson? You could be one of the first with a little Jetson :) I think those all work with Paul.

I really like the already-suggested name Jasper a lot, and I'm thinking it's going to be pretty popular soon.

Although it's only one syllable and it doesn't have the same "n" or "r" ending or surname-sound, I'd like to suggest the cool and rare "J" name Jove which is another name for the Roman god, Jupiter. Unfortunately though, I don't think it sounds so well with Paul as a second name. Jove Paxton sounds nice though.

Good luck!

The suggestions made of Jackson, Jagger, and Jameson seem like they'd be right up your alley, given this list. All sound great with Paul. Do you like any of those? I also think Jordan and Julian could kind of go with your style, though they are less overtly surnamey or masculine. Potential?

The only one of those names you listed that I wouldn't do with Paul is Paxton, or any P name, since he'd be PP - major no bueno for the school yard, no?

Jaxon seems like it might be your style.

Judson is very handsome and masculine and goes with Paul.

Jethro and Joash are two other possibilities

Corbin!   It's awesome, but not weird or awkward...

I like the name Jory (I'm not sure if I spelled it right.  It might be Jorie)
