Congratulations! I think that with the exception of Olly and Ella, all of your names match well. Those two together are too sing songy for my tastes. I might also stay away from Autumn and Archie, and Zeb and Zane together, but think they are cute. Also, with your surname, I'd avoid Eva just because I go straight to the Garden of Eden. Evelyn or Ava would work better. But I think you're off to a good start!

Boy/Girl: Willow & Zane.

Girl/Girl:  Autumn & Willow, but  I can't decide if it's too much nature theme to use with twins or not.  Willow & Ella would also be nice, and I like the more subtle double L tie-in.

Boy/Boy:  Freddie & Archie

Well, I prefer full names given officially, rather than nicknames, but from your list I would pick:

BB: Olly and Archie

BG: Olly and Eva

GG: Autumn and Willow

The GG set was hard for me from your list, because I like Willow, but Autumn isn't my favorite nature name.  However, I think that Willow is too non-traditional to pair with either Eva or Ella.  And I like Eva, but I think Eva and Ella sound too matchy for twins.  Maybe Eva and Willa?  Although the pair of short -a names is also a bit matchy.   I think 2-4 syllables would be fine for your surname--my tendency would be to go with something longer like Oliver, Alastair, Everett, Eleanor (nn Ella?), Evelyn or Evangeline (nn Eva or Evie?), Violet, Penelope, etc.

I think you have lots of good options to work with. I normally like full names on birth certificates but with the exception of Olly, I don't mind any of the others as full  names if that is what your pefer

Boy/Boy: Freddie and Archie but I also really like Zeb and Zane, so either combo.

Girl/Girl: Autumn and Willow. I don't like Eva with your surname and Ella doesn't go that well with Autumn, but I don't mind Willow and Ella together as a runner up.

Boy/Girl: Zane and Autumn. Runner up would Archie and Willow.

Girls: Autumn and Willow, Eva and Autumn

Boys: Freddie and Archie, though I prefer Frederick and something that could have Archie as a nickname

Boy and girl: Autumn and Zane, Willow and Oliver (for Olly)

Congrats on your twins! You have some really great names on your list. However, with a one syllable last name, I personally would be looking at names that are a bit longer and end in consonants. There are many two syllable names that would work well, but because your last name starts with an "L" I would probably avoid names that end in vowel sounds since many of them will run into your last name.

Your list:

  • Eva - runs into your last name and sounds like "evil lord" when I say it out loud
  • Ella - I really like this name, but it runs into and is too "L" heavy with your ln to my ears; it sounds like a vocalization, sort of like el-la-la-la-la
  • Willow - I LOVE this name, it's just a tiny bit choppy with your ln, but still usable
  • Autumn - also really like this name and think it works with your ln
  • Olly - the -ee sound creates a pause, but the repeated "L" sounds are heavy and overwhelm the brief pause created; Oliver, nn Olly is doable
  • Freddie - this is a great nickname-name and could work with your ln b/c the -ee sound at the end creates a pause before your ln
  • Archie - same as Freddie, though I like Archer with Archie as a nickname better
  • Zeb - I don't like how this sounds in combination with your ln
  • Zane - it's okay, and flows better with your ln than Zeb, but you have better options

B/B: Archie/Freddie,  Archie/Zane or Freddie/Zane

G/G: Willow/Autumn (both nature names, but different categories; Autumn/Summer or Willow/Laurel would be too matchy for twins I think)

B/G: Freddie/Willow, Archie/Willow, Freddie/Autumn

Suggestions:

Since you mentioned you were open to suggestions, I thought I'd include some based on the names you both already seem to agree on.

Clara, Ava, Evangeline, Sophie, Chloe, Felicity, Alice, Thea, Julia, Audrey, Daphne, Emma, Keira, Mina, Nina, Zoe

Theo, Oliver (nn Olly), Archer (nn Archie), Owen, Preston, Isaac, Isaiah, Tobias (nn Toby), Toby, Jasper, Noah

Good luck and best wishes!
