If You Had (a) Kid(s), What Would You Name Them?/What are (is) Your Kid(s) Name(s)? :)

I can think of anything for the "body" - the question says it all.

my middle child (boy) is Aiden.. I love, love, love it! It really suits him! He is 17!

My son is Lincoln James.

We haven't found out the sex of our second child yet (we find out at the end of this month), but if it's another boy, he'll be Silas Nathaniel and if it's a girl, she'll be Maeve Cordelia.

If I were naming my future kids today they would be Caroline Quinn and Owen Alexander

Other names I've considered: Nora, Cora, Reese, Meredith, Alice, Claire, and Amelia; Ronan, Nathan, Eli, Theo, and Asher... I know I would have trouble deciding since I feel like the style of names I like is all over the place!  I'll definitely be coming here for opinions if we decide to have kids :)

Less than a year ago, I was positive that if I ever had a chance to name a kid, it's be Freya Isabella or Robert Caspian. But in maybe 6 months, I'm not so sure anymore. At the time, I think it was the matching end sound of Freya Isabella that appealed to me. But now it sort of makes me cringe.

Maybe old Turkish king/queen names titles

like Hazar

Girl:Bilge,Güneş,Mayıs not sure on girl names

16
March 4, 2014 11:16 PM

I'm afraid Bilge belongs in the "names that don't cross the language barrier" thread: in English, bilge means the dirty water that collects in the bottom of a boat, and by extension, rubbish or nonsense.

I currently have 3 children 2 girls and a boy:

Kiara Nykohl (named after princess kiara- -Simba's daughter on the Lion king movie. We also liked the African roots in the name)

Corey Jamil (he's a jr)

Valeigha Kurtrice (a combination of both our mother's names. She's 3 now and I'm still having a bit of name remorse)

We do plan on having a 4th we would like a boy. We would like to name him Caleb Matthew (Matthew is my dad's name)

26
May 18, 2015 10:39 PM

I have a daughter, Kipling Elizabeth. She's 3, and it took us forever to agree on her name. She's named after Rudyard Kipling. Her middle name we just could not agree upon. Eventually we settled on Elizabeth, after Elizabeth Woodville "The White Queen". We've nicknamed her Buzzy, and it's definitely stuck.

I'm expecting baby number two, and not a whole lot of discussion has been put into a name. I'm sure it will follow the literary path, as well.

27
July 14, 2015 1:06 PM

They would be old, long and unusual. L and M names for girls and K and M names for boys. I really like double middle names right now. Second middle name would be an I name. My favorites are Mavera, Lulubar, Ilya and Larissa for girls. YYemliha, Kays and Ilkay for boys.

If I could control genders I'd have three girls, Ivy, Isolde and Florence, and a boy, Eugene.

I don't have any kids yet and I'm still far from having any, but I think if I had a child now I would name a girl Mathilda and a boy Julian.

Girls: Alexandria Jade, Gemma Rosalie, Willa Victoria, Ella Cecelia, Ivy Grace

Boys: Roy Thomas, Theodore Jared NN "Theo" or "Teddy", Nolan Sean, Henry Benjamin, James Oliver NN "Jamie"

If I got to choose, I'd have two boys and one girl:

Roy Thomas after my grandfather Roy, and my dad Thomas

Theodore Jared after President Theodore Roosevelt (I'm a history teacher!) and Jared after my cousin

Gemma Rosalie, just because I think Gemma beautiful but unique, and Rosalie after my sister

I love the sophisticated nordic names such as;

Elijah (Eli), Arlo, Claudia (I know it isn't nordic! + Claud for short), Anastasia, Milo, Aaliyah.

33
November 4, 2015 5:21 PM

Claudia is indeed not Nordic, but neither is any other one on that list.

34
November 29, 2015 12:26 AM

Here's my list. It is constantly changing, and I have whole notebooks full of names I like. I've just shared the ones that feel "finished". Meaning that I feel like they have the perfect middle name. I would say that my style is a mix of traditional and ecclectic. I'm definitely drawn to literary and funky names.

Atticus Gideon

Harvey Broderick

Hamish Wilder

Inigo Phoenix

Bruce Alastair

I don't have kids, but here are a few names:

Toby Jack (boy)- Toby is one of my favorite boy names, Jack goes well with Toby

Jude Miles (boy)- Jude is my other favorite boy name. Miles was the only name I can think of that goes with Jude.

Sadie Mae (girl)- I love Sadie, and Mae as a middle.

Nora June (girl)- Again, I love Nora, and June as a middle for Nora.

Lyla/Lilah Kate (girl)- I love the name Lie-luh, and I love Kate as a middle

Aria Rose- Aria is a name I like, and Rose is my middle.

Tobias/Toby Jude (boy)- Since I love Toby and Jude, this would be a compromise. I don't like Tobias as much.

Jude Toby (boy)- I just think it doesn't flow well, though.
