Is this just a terrible idea?
While I'm not pregnant nor expecting to be currently, I do have a potential naming problem that I'd like solved before craziness of an actual baby further complicates this dilemma.
So, I dearly dearly love the name Thisbe. I love the sound, the history, everything. Both I and my partner have last names that are also adjectives in addition to being first names (Side game- who wants to guess what they are?), so choosing either as an option for an unconceived baby is difficult, becfause I fear that to those who don't know how to pronounce Thisbe, the name would read as This Be ____, like This Be Cool, for example. Even the nn, Be, which partner loves, lends itself to something like Be Cool (I actually prefer Bebe as a nn, so that could be moot). This all makes me cringe. Should I just abandon all hope on this gorgeous name before there's a baby in the future? Or should I hold onto it because I love it and the correct pronunciation be will make all my worries fall away?
