My husband's cousin had a baby girl on Friday and named her Lotus Faith. I haven't heard this one before, but I guess it fits in with the Violets, Roses, Lilys and Daisys. Thoughts?

Lotus' older siblings are Christion, Makenna, Keaton, and Elcie.

Seeing the name Lotus rang a bell and I had to scratch the recesses of my brain to come up with which celebrity had used it. It was Top Chef winner, Richard Blais, who named his daughter Embry Lotus back in 2011. His wife is named Jazmin and their older daughter is Riley Maddox.

It's not my style, but I think that there's something interestingly elegant about it. I think. Maybe.

I like it more than any of the sibling names (it's not misspelled, and not a surname!), but isn't Lotus a model of expensive sports car?

I too like it more than the siblings' names.

I had to look it up, thinking you might mean Lexus, but then it rang a bell for me too. It's a UK manufacturer of cars.

Lotus just makes me think of yoga. :-)

Never heard of the car.

I just think of Lotus blossoms. Not my favorite flower name, but I can see the appeal.

I had heard this Lotus name before,it is a very nice name. Naming girls with flower names sound good.

I know someone who once declared her intent to name a hypothetical third child Lotus. She's definitely a free-spirited, artistic sort - I believe that she'd been wanting to use Pa1oma B.unny and Wens1ey B3ar, to be called by their middles, for the first hypothetical two children. I would tend to think it fits in more with the Bodhis and Rivers than with the other floral names.

Padme is being discussed in other threads - it's the Sanskrit word for Lotus.

Wow, Lotus Faith? I would expect someone with that name to have parents who are really intense Buddhist converts. I definitely like the first name Lotus though.
