New List: Jude, Quincy, Jasper, Hugo, Joshua, Sean, Milo, William, Anderson

February 28, 2017 11:45 PM

Jude, Quincy, Jasper, Hugo, Joshua, Sean, Milo, William, Anderson

Love: Jasper (A little worried a real little Jasper might get playground teasing because of Twilight, but it's a pretty name. I wish there were more gemstone names for boys,), Jude (It's pretty, but I'm not sure why I like it so much.) Sean (It's kind of a nice guy name.)

Like: Joshua (too common and I don't like boys' names that end in -A, and it's kind of ruined by Josh Duggar, but it's fine.) William (It's every other baby boy's name, but there's a reason for that. Hate the nickname Will though.), Anderson (Don't love it, don't hate it.)

Lose: Hugo (funny, I picked this name because I thought it was the ugliest name of all time. It makes me think of Bond villain Hugo Drax.), Quincy (too stuffy and posh in a bad way), Milo (I just hate names that end in -O. Milo sounds like a dog's name. I really don't get the appeal to this one.)

New List: Jasper, Jude, Sean, Joshua, William, Anderson, Ramone, Irwin, Sergio

March 1, 2017 9:51 AM

Love: Jude, Jasper, William

Like: Sean, Anderson, Sergio

Lose: Joshua (just too popular), Ramone (so old guy), Irwin (it's got the last name as a first factor, but I hate it)

Jude, Jasper, William, Sean, Anderson, Sergio, Brady, Theodore, Harrison

Love: William, Jude (can't use because it rhymes with surname!), & Harrison (we named the cat this)

Like: Sean, Theodore, & Jasper

Lose: Anderson, Sergio, & Brady

New List: William, Jude, Harrison, Sean, Theodore, Jasper, Oliver, Joel, Julian

March 1, 2017 1:16 PM

William, Jude, Harrison, Sean, Theodore,  Oliver,

Love: Sean (I guess this name's time has past, since it's dropping really fast, but it's still a very good, solid name.) Joel (always loved this one. Maybe I just really love Billy Joel.), Jasper (see above).

Like: Julian (Too similar to Julianne to me, but it's fine.) William (I just wish there was a better nickname for this. Willie is unusable, no one uses Bill or Billy anymore, Liam's its own name now, and I loathe Will.) Oliver (Way too popular, and not one I'm too fond of.),

Lose: Theodore (completely ruined by Alvin & the Chipmunks. Strangely, every Theodore I've ever met acts exactly like the Chipmunk.)Harrison (not a terrible name, but not great.) Jude (Don't love the St. Jude connection, since it's a children's hospital, and I don't really like Jude Law.)

New List: Sean, Joel, Jasper, Julian, William, Oliver, Manuel, Karl, Henri

March 1, 2017 5:07 PM

Love: Joel, Oliver (but sadly I'll never be able to use with my last name), Julian (I know the most adorable baby named Julian and I was so surprised how much I like it!)

Like: Henri, William (second the no good nicknames!), Manuel

Lose: Karl, Jasper (bored with it, sadly), Sean

New list: Joel, Oliver, Julian, Henri, William, Manuel, August, David, Leland

March 2, 2017 10:40 PM

Love: Joel, David, & Julian

Like: Oliver, William, & August

Lose: Henri, Manuel, Leland (I actually *like* a lot of our lose names right now. It's tough to make a decision!)

New List: Joel, David, Julian, Oliver, William, August, Paul, Devan, Griffin

March 3, 2017 10:58 AM

I know! It's hard to choose and I've noticed that some I love at one point drop rapidly with other names! *Shrug*

Love: August, Joel, William

Like: Paul, Devan (but there are too many spellings), Julian

Lose: David, Griffin, Oliver

New list: August, Joel, William, Paul, Devan, Julian, Xander, Philip, Coleman

March 3, 2017 11:12 AM

Love: Paul, Philip, Julian

Like: August, Coleman, William

Lose: Joel, Devan, Xander

New List: Paul, Philip, Julian, August, Coleman, William, Cormac, Winslow, Aaron

12
March 3, 2017 12:26 PM

Love: Aaron (I used to love this name, but it had the same problem as the Eliza on the girls' list that Hamilton ruined it (not helping that Aaron Burr was always a negative on this name), Philip (a little pedestrian, but I like it.), Winslow (another one I'm not sure why I like it so much, but I think it's pretty. One of few boy's names I like for being "pretty".)

Like: Julian (still too similar to Julianne to me.) William (King of the pedestrian names. It's almost too safe a choice.), Paul (not really a fan of this. It's just very dull and sounds like a nickname without a full name.)

Lose: Cormac (I think I hate names with "Mack" in them. It also rhymes with tarmac, which I don't like.), Coleman (I like Cole a lot though.), August (for some reason, I think of this as a girl's name. I know it's predominantly a boy's name (think August Wilson of Fences fame), but I think of month names as girl's names (you know, like April, May, and June?))

New List: Aaron, Philip, Winslow, Julian, William, Paul, Rafael, Erick, Andreas

13
March 3, 2017 2:48 PM

LOVE: Julian (a name I've always loved and one we considered using if any one of our children had been a boy), Philip (a classic name you can never go wrong with), William (beautiful, classic name like Philip, with lots of nickname options)

LIKE: Paul, Aaron, Erick (I do prefer it without the k at the end, if it had been just Eric it may have made the LOVE list)

LOSE: Winslow (a friend of mine had a horse named Winslow, so unfortunately that's all I can think of when hearing the name), Rafael (just not my style), Andreas (I prefer Andrew over Andreas)

New list: Julian, Philip, William, Paul, Aaron, Erick, Maxwell, Alistair, Sebastian

14
March 3, 2017 7:25 PM

Love: Willias, Maxwell, Paul

Like: Sebastian (but it is close to be a love), Julian, Aaron

Lose: Philip, Alisatr, Erick

New List: William, Maxwell, Paul, Sebastian, Julian, Aaron, Edison, Jack, Walton

March 3, 2017 7:50 PM

Love: William, Julian, Paul

Like: Aaron, Jack, Maxwell

Lose: Sebastian, Edison (though I do like this for an Ed nn), Walton

New List: William, Julian, Paul, Aaron, Jack, Maxwell, Luke, Vincent, Taylor

16
March 3, 2017 9:05 PM

William, Julian, Paul, Aaron, Jack, Maxwell, Luke, Vincent, Taylor

Love; Taylor (I actually LOVE Taylor for a boy. Shame it's thought too feminine now), Luke (So pretty, shame pretty much every Luke I've ever met is a jerk.), Vincent (In contrast every Vincent I've ever met has been really nice, so I love this one,)

Like: Aaron (See above.), Maxwell (I like this better than Max on its own, which just feels incomplete.), Jack (not a fave, and I wish it was still a nickname for John).

Lose: William (Again, almost too safe a choice. I like Billy though.), Julian (Again, too feminine.), Paul (just don't like this one. Maybe it's too short?)

New List: Taylor, Luke, Vincent, Aaron, Maxwell, Jack, Declan, Felix, Gustav

Love: Jack, Finn, Sawyer

Like: Declan, Felix, Ryland

Lose: James, Jeffrey, Peter

New List: Jack, Finn, Sawyer, Declan, Felix, Ryland, Milo, Gavin, Theo

20
March 6, 2017 10:24 AM

We've already done Milo, so I'll switch it out with Miles. I think we should have the same rule here for no repeat names. If you're wondering if a name you're thinking of has already been used, just use your find on page feature (my PC has this as Ctrl+F and I want to say Macs are Command+F, but don't quote me on that) to see if it's already been used.

Love: Gavin (I don't really know why I like this one, since it's so not my style, but I like it quite a lot.) Felix (A little too associated with the Cat and to a lesser extent Pewdiepie but I still like, but not enough to actually name a kid that.) Miles (Much more mature and manly than Milo. It's Latin for warrior, which I really think is awesome.)

Like: Declan (not a huge fan, but it's got a cool sound to it. I also think it's too British to use here in the States where I'm from though.), Theo (Got the same problem as Theodore though (see above), Sawyer (It's a little awkward sounding to me, but I guess it's fine.)

Lose: Jack (Feels a little too kidish. Like Milo, I can't see an adult with this name. And can anyone tell me where I'm getting the strange but overpowering association of Jack as a flamboyant gay man? I don't know where I get that from.) Finn (this name has been on my no list for a while now, because like pretty much every name the show used Glee ruined this name for me. But now everyone's going to be like, "oh, you named it after the character from the new Star Wars?"), Ryland (Just awful. Another one that I can't see an adult with. Come on people, names that are cute on babies are rarely cute on adults. It just looks hideous too, and so made up. I know it's a surname, but there are just some surnames that shouldn't be used as first names.)

New List: Gavin, Felix, Miles, Declan, Theo, Sawyer, Raymond, Toby, Klaus

21
March 7, 2017 6:22 AM

Love: Miles, Gavin, Theo

Like: Declan, Toby, Felix

Lose: Raymond, Klaus, Felix

New List: Miles, Gavin, Theo, Declan, Toby, Felix, Gerard, Ethan, Zane

23
March 15, 2017 10:18 AM

That's probably it, but I might have met a really flamboyant Jack once that sealed the deal.

24
March 7, 2017 10:06 AM

Love: Toby, Gavin, Felix (although Felix is my parents' dog name, so could never use lol!)

Like: Declan, Theo, Gerard (don't really like, but dislike less than the other 3)

Lose: Zane, Miles, Ethan

New List: Gavin, Theo, Declan, Toby, Felix, Gerard, Callum, Ezra, Edgar

25
March 7, 2017 11:55 AM

Love: Callum (This is my favorite boy's name.), Ezra (Not commonly used and biblical), Toby (I'm sad this is used mostly for dogs nowadays.)

Like: Declan, Edgar, Theo

Lose: Gavin (I know about 100 little Gavins), Felix, Gerard (Not bad, just a little bit stiff)

New List: Callum, Ezra, Toby, Declan, Edgar, Theo, Solomon, Francis, Noah

26
March 7, 2017 5:11 PM

Love: Declan (I wouldn't use it for a kid, but I like it. Again, too British for me to use here in the States.), Francis (a long time fave. I'd actually use this. Frank's a little dated and I like Frankie for a boy but I'm worried people think it's too feminine though.), Toby (This actually was my grandma's dog, whom I loved very much. Wouldn't use it on its own without Tobias though.)

Like: Noah (Crazy popular though. Wouldn't even use it on a middle.), Edgar (A little too old, even for me though.), Theo (still too Chipmunky.)

Lose: Soloman & Ezra (One of my least favorite groups of names are those really hard-core biblical names. Too 19th Century. I see so many baby boys nowadays with names like Civil War Generals! Is Ezra Hooper a kid on the playground or did he fight for the Union?!), Callum (Too posh British-y. Also looks like "Call 'Em".)

New List: Declan, Francis, Toby, Noah, Edgar, Theo, Isaac, Maurice, Winston

27
March 7, 2017 9:44 PM

Love: Winston (love it, seems ike an old man name too), Theo (a mix of cute and old), Noah (just wish it was not as popular)

Like: Toby, Isaac, Declan

Lose: Maurice, Francis (I like Frances for a girl over a boy even though it is traditionally a boy's name), Edgar

New List: Winston, Theo, Noah, Toby, Isaac, Declan, Nico, Clark, George

28
March 8, 2017 10:34 AM

Love: Winston (As Churchill), Clark (Underused, for sure), Isaac (solid)

Like: Toby, Nico, George (This name feels gullible to me. I like it despite that though.)

Lose: Theo, Noah, Declan

New List: Winston, Clark, Isaac, Toby, Nico, George, Roger, Silas, Harvey

29
March 8, 2017 8:13 PM

Love: Winston (I don't know why I like this one so much though. There's not any good nicknames for it. I like Winston Churchill enough, but the first thing that comes to mind is Winston Zeddemore, and as much as I like that movie I'm not naming my kid after a Ghostbuster. I still really like this name though.), Harvey (another one I like even though there's even fewer good associations - at best we have the imaginary rabbit in the movie Harvey, and at worst Lee Harvey Oswald, but I absolutely love it. I'd actually even use it.), Roger (another kind of guilty pleasure name, because I really love mid-century names. One I could see using as a middle someday.)

Like: Isaac (Not in love with the double A, but it's a hardcore Biblical name I actually like.), Toby (It's a darling nickname, but I wouldn't use it without Tobias.), Clark (Just kind of boring. It's not bad though.)

Lose: Silas (Sounds too much like Silence to me. and even though Silas is a New Testement name it has the same problem as the Old Testement names - too 19th Century.), Nico (Don't like this not as a nickname for Nicholas. It's cute but I'd never use it on its own.) George (A little too pedestrian and there's no nicknames.)

New List: Winston, Harvey, Roger, Isaac, Toby, Clark, Montgomery, Nelson, Martin

30
March 9, 2017 7:14 PM

Love: Winston, Clark, Harvey

Like: Roger, Isaac, Montgomery

Lose: Toby, Nelson, Martin

New List: Winston, Clark, Harvey, Roger, Isaac, Montgomery, Adrian, Chase, Taylor

31
March 9, 2017 11:29 PM

Love: Taylor, Isaac, Winston

Like: Clark, Harvey, Montgomery

Lose: Adrian, Chase, Roger.

New list: Taylor, Isaac, Winston, Clark, Harvey, Montgomery, William, Owen, and Simon.

32
March 10, 2017 8:15 AM

We've already used both Taylor and William (sorry I didn't nab Taylor earlier but I didn't want to double post.) My rule is that I change any name that's reintroduced after it's had a run of more than two posts to a similar name, but let slide names that were shot down after only one post a long time ago - that okay with you guys? In the meantime, Taylor becomes Tyler and William becomes Willard.

Love: Isaac (The more I think about this, the more I really like this one. I don't know why though, because it looks kind of clunky on paper.) Winston (see above.) Harvey (see above.)

Like: Tyler (oddly, even though this is thought of as a common name, I know only like two young Tylers though. I kind of like it though, probably because of Fight Club.) Willard (This name isn't very pretty, but I'm so freaking sick of baby Williams it seems oddly refreshing.), Simon (another name kind of ruined by the Chipmunks, but not to the extent that Alvin and Theodore are though. It's an okay name.)

Lose: Owen (it's really popular among boys roughly babies to fifteen year olds in my part of the country, and I feel like most of those Owens have been kind of bratty and wild-child.), Clark (I'm just not a fan. Clark is my go-to "dad" name. Not new enough to be new, not old enough to be retro, I wonder why, in spite of Clark Gable and Clark Kent being charming and cool and whatnot, I think of Clark as really pedestrian.), Montgomery (Fun fact: I chose my last three names off a character list from The Simpsons and I took this from Montgomery Burns (Mr. Burns) (I also used Nelson Muntz and Martin Prince). Can't shake him from this name.)

New List: Isaac, Winston, Harvey, Tyler, Willard, Colin, Ari, Tony

33
March 10, 2017 5:04 PM

Isaac, Winston, Harvey, Tyler, Willard, Colin, Simon, Ari, Tony

Love: Colin- sounds gentlemanly but still friendly and approachable to me; Simon- I like Biblical, but not "cowboy Biblical" and I think this fits that; Harvey- kind of cute in an old-fashioned charm sort of way

Like: Isaac- starts to branch into the "cowboy Biblical" territory; Ari- nice enough, but I have a hard time disassociating it from the NCIS character, especially next to Tony; Tony- ok, but I can't help thinking of pizza places

Lose: Tyler- I don't like surnames anyway, but this and Taylor are both terribly dated to me; Willard- still feels surnamey to me even though I know it originated as a given name; Winston- again with the surnames!

Colin, Simon, Harvey, Isaac, Ari, Tony, Basil, Clarence, Silvester

34
March 10, 2017 10:04 PM

Colin, Simon, Harvey, Isaac, Ari, Tony, Basil, Clarence, Silvester

Love: Isaac (There's not really a ton of good I names for boys. I like Ian a lot, but there's not really much else.),Tony (I was thinking of the names that are least likely to get kids teased on the playground. I think a ten year old boy would probably love to share a name with Tony Stark more than anyone in the world, so I'd say Tony's a pretty tease proof name at least to this generation of kids. It's kind of funny how fairly pedestrian a lot of the Avengers/Marvel characters' names are though (Tony, Steve, Bruce, Clint, Scott, 2 Peters, Steven), Colin (I really like this name a lot, and even though it's kind of similar looking to colon it doesn't bother me at all.)

Like: Ari (Funny that I had Ari and Tony together - I don't watch NCIS so I didn't know those were two of the characters! Ari's a nice name though. It feels very modern and yet isn't a new invention.), Harvey (see above), Silvester (A little too much of a cat's name, but it's spunky and energetic.)

Lose: Simon (Yeah, the Chipmunks thing just won't stop bothering me.), Basil (It's nice and I like that it's a botanical for boys, but no one in the States will pronounce it Bahz-il. Because the plant is Bay-zil, no one would assume the name is any different.) Clarence (It's not only a little old man-ish, but it's kind of a grumpy old man's name. My mental picture of a Clarence, even if he's not old, is really grumpy. Also sounds a little like Clarice, which I don't think a little boy would appreciate.)

New List: Isaac, Tony, Colin, Ari, Harvey, Silvester, Benjamin, Hector, Lowell

35
March 11, 2017 2:57 PM

Isaac, Tony, Colin, Ari, Harvey, Silvester, Benjamin, Hector, Lowell

Love: Silvester- like the derivation and the snappy sound; Colin- see above; Harvey- see above

Like: Benjamin- like it, but it's too popular; Hector- it's ok, but not something I would choose; Isaac- see above

Lose: Lowell- too surnamey; Ari- the NCIS character; Tony- again, I think of pizza places, and I'd prefer it as a nickname to Antony (or another form of Antony)

Silvester, Colin, Harvey, Benjamin, Hector, Isaac, Lysander, Percival, Caspar

36
March 13, 2017 12:04 AM

Love: Isaac (Love it), Colin (Always like but would spell Collin for some reason it reads better to me), Benjamin (love the nn Ben)

Like: Harvey (I am indifferent to this name but reminds me of Harvey Kunkel from Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Hector (Seems alright), Caspar (I think it is cute but cannot get over the ghost connection)

Lose: Lysander (Too vampire-y and sounds like lysol), Percival (Sounds too fancy for me), Silvester (cannot get past the cat connection)

New List: Isaac, Collin, Benjamin, Harvey, Hector, Caspar, Elias, Maverick, Lincoln

37
March 13, 2017 4:19 AM

Isaac, Collin, Benjamin, Harvey, Hector, Caspar, Elias, Maverick, Lincoln

Love: Caspar (I have a vendetta to get more people to use this amazing name), Colin (I prefer with one l, but I find both youthful and dignified), Harvey (I couldn't actually use this, but it has a friendly sound).

Like: Benjamin (a classic), Hector (interesting),Lincoln (not really a fan, but something has to make the list).

Lose: Isaac (I think I just really dislike clearly biblical names), Maverick (sounds boastful, I imagine this kid being a real pain when he's older), Elias (meh).

New list: Caspar, Colin, Harvy, Benjamin, Hector, Lincoln, Eugene, Francis, Barbaby

38
March 13, 2017 6:46 AM

Love: Colin, Lincoln (guilty pleasure but idk if I could name my son that), Benjamin

Like: Francis (i like it but i like it only for a girl), Caspar, Eugene (it is alright, some days i dispise and others i think it is decent)

Lose: Barbaby (i have never heard this name, perhaps it should of been baranaby but regardless, i dont like that it literall is bar baby), Harvey, Hector

New List: Colin, Lincoln, Benjamin, Francis, Caspar, Eugene, Malcolm, Graham, Tristan

39
March 13, 2017 7:21 AM

Sorry! That was definitely meant to be Barnaby. Typo!

41
March 13, 2017 9:26 AM

We've already used Francis, so I'll change it to Franklin.

Love: Franklin (It's a good alternative if you think Francis is a little feminine. I've always loved it, probably because I really like FDR.), Lincoln (It's a pretty safe presidential name. No one dislikes Lincoln. I also think Lincoln has a nice sound to it and the nickname Link is cute, if a little Zelda-ish.), Colin (It's just a fine name. I like it, although I don't think it's anything groundbreaking.)

Like: Eugene (I kind of have a soft spot for this name. It's not the manliest or the toughest, but it's a nice guy name. I can't picture a Eugene who's not really nice.), Malcolm (I wouldn't use it for my kid though because I just can't picture it on a white kid though.), Tristan (I like it more than Christian, but I'm worried it's starting to get overused because I'm really starting to hear it get tossed around a lot. Oddly the triste meaning sad doesn't really bother me too much though.)

Lose: Caspar (I'm sorry, but this name is completely unusable to me. You do know Casper the Friendly Ghost was a child who died right? You name your kid Caspar, people will call him "friendly ghost" his whole life. Don't do that to your kid.), Graham (A little too British for my taste, plus I don't love the graham cracker association.), Benjamin (A little too overused right now, I don't love Ben, a little too Old Testement (although it's not the worst in this regard) and I don't like the J in the middle. I don't like J's in the middle of words, period.)

New List: Franklin, Lincoln, Colin, Eugene, Malcolm, Tristan, Kyle, Victor, Liam

42
March 13, 2017 9:30 AM

Franklin, Lincoln, Colin, Eugene, Malcolm, Tristan, Kyle, Victor, Liam

Love: Victor (this is one of the all-time great names, I'm not sure why it isn't super-popular), Eugene (Handsome and underused), Malcolm (the guy I knew with this name was Scottish; it sounds great in a Scottish context and I can see it working in a range of contexts).

Like: Franklin (a classic but I find it slightly fustier and dweebier than some), Tristan (romantic, dashing, I´ve overheard it a bit lately), Colin (still like).

Lose: Lincoln (I am not a fan of presidential names; if it weren't for that it has good sounds and nicknames), Kyle (I picture a tanned, muscly soap opera guy, not sure why, sounds very 80s though), Liam (this was great when it was just Liam Neeson. I do prefer William though).

New list: Victor, Eugene, Malcolm, Franklin, Tristan, Colin, Rufus, Hamish, Ralph

43
March 13, 2017 10:18 AM

Love:

Eugene. They used it in _Tangled_ because it's seen as the ultimate dweeb or old geezer name, but I love it, maybe exactly because of that.
Malcolm. Because "Firefly."
Ralph. Another contrarian, nerdy choice.

Like:

Victor. For some reason I get this confused with Vincent, but it's a fine name.
Colin. I like this better as a nickname for Nicholas, but it has independent Gaelic roots as well, so it's fine on its own.
Tristan. It's kind of hard to separate this from the medieval romance hero, but I'm sure I could get over that if I met a youngster with this name.

Lose:

Hamish. Sorry to shoot it down so quickly, but it's just an awful construct: it's an attempt at phonetically rendering the Gaelic vocative case of Seumas (James). Withycombe actually says: "The use of this pseudo-Gaelic form is to be discouraged." I don't think she comes out so strongly against any other name in her entire book. (Vocative case doesn't exist in English; it's often rendered "O, [Name]" in translations, to indicate the direct address function. You don't name children in the vocative case. Names should be bestowed in the nominative case, by definition.)
Franklin. It's a surname or social position. ('A landowner of free but not noble birth.') If you want Frank, use Frank. Or Francis.
Rufus. Again, sorry to lose it so quickly, but it's just too much an adjective to me. Might as well name the kid Ruddy. It's fine as a dog's name, though.

New list: Eugene, Malcolm, Ralph, Victor, Colin, Tristan, Benedict, Ferdinand, Nicodemus.

44
March 13, 2017 10:35 AM

Love: Eugene (I forgot about Tangled! Now I remember why I like this name!), Victor (It's a little on the nose, but it's more classic than stuff like Maverick on the front of intentionally badass names.), Ferdinand (It's got a charm. Shame the only nickname is Ferd.),

Like: Benedict (I wonder if Benedict Arnold is still a major downside on this name. I read something once that he was the reason no one uses Benedict in the US. I'm not a huge fan of Benedict Cumberbatch though, so I myself wouldn't use it.),  Malcolm (see above), Tristan (see above).

Lose: Nicodemus (Sounds too much like Nostradamus to me.), Ralph (Too Ralph Wiggum for me. Can't picture anyone smart with this name. I was just thinking about how the Simpsons is a treasure trove of old names (Homer, Bartholomew, Abraham (Grandpa Simpson), Montgomery (Burns), Nelson (Muntz), Seymour (Skinner), Clancy (Chief Wiggum), Barney, Moe, Willie (Groundskeeper Willie), Ned (Flanders)...), Colin (I still like this name, but it's been in play for a while.)

New List: Eugene, Victor, Ferdinand, Benedict, Malcolm, Tristan, Gordon, Ash, Tatum

45
March 13, 2017 12:22 PM

I don't have time to play another round, but nicknames for Ferdinand: Dino, Nandy, Andy, Fred.

46
March 15, 2017 11:58 AM

Love: Malcolm (love, seems simple but unique), Victor (My mentor has this as a first name and so I have fond memories), Ash (simple name, usually i think its a nickname but I think it can be a full name as well)

Like: Tristan (i really like it but could never use it for some reason), Gordon (a guilty pleasure), Ferdinand (i really like this book and think Dino can be a cute nickname)

Lose: Tatum (reads female), Benedict (benedict arnold, no), Eugene (was just meh for me)

New List: Malcolm, Victor, Ash, Tristan, Gordon, Ferdinand, Warren, Joah, Seth

47

Love: Gordon (Also a guilty pleasure name. It sounds homely in a good way - someone who's hard working and industrious.), Victor (Definitely classic. It sounds mature yet not stuffy or snobby.), Ash (worried people might think it's a little feminine because of Ashley, but to tell the truth Ashley for a boy has been a long time guilty pleasure of mine, so I like Ash for a boy.)

Like: Ferdinand (I'm not a huge fan of Dino, kind of worried it's too associated with the Flintstones' pet dinosaur.), Warren (I used to really like this, but now I'm kind of meh.), Seth (A name that's definitely past it's prime, a little too '80's. Not bad though.)

Lose: Malcolm (I really associate this with either African Americans or Scottish Americans for some reason, as I'm neither I could never use this name.) Joah (It's this weird combination to me of too Old-Testement and too new and fake sounding. It feels simultaneously old and stodgy and made up because it sounds trendy. Not a fan.), Tristan (Really worried this might get really popular soon.)

New List: Gordon, Victor, Ash, Ferdinand, Warren, Seth, Joseph, Timothy, Kirk

Gordon, Victor, Ash, Ferdinand, Warren, Seth, Joseph, Timothy, Kirk

Love: Victor (see above), Timothy (when I was a kid I wanted to name my son this; I've changed my mind and anyway my sister has a horrible ex of that name but I still really like the crispness), Joseph (classic).

Like: Warren (It does make me think of rabbit warrens, but it's dignified and unusual), Gordon (another one that reads very Scottish to me; I feel like half the men I knew when I lived there were Gordons), Ferdinand.

Lose: Ash (I just find it very abrupt), Seth (sounds very hissy to me), Kirk (I'm coming to the conclusion that I don't like one-syllable boys' names).

New list: Victor, Timothy, Joseph, Warren, Gordon, Ferdinand, Reuben, Wilbur, Carl

Love: Gordon (I don't think I would use it, but I still really like it.), Reuben (Always been soemthing of a guilty pleasure name. It's an old school biblical name, but it doesn't sound too religious or too 19th century.) Warren (It kind of sounds like warrant to me, but I used to really love this name.)

Like: Joseph (a little too pedestrian. Wouldn't use it because I have about five Josephs in my family already.), Timothy (I hate Timmy, because every Timmy I've ever known has been a wild-child who screams all the time. And because Tim is really, really, really boring, I don't think I would use this one.) Carl (It's fine.)

Lose: Victor (Still like it, but time to sub out), Wilbur (Too associated with the pig from Charlotte's Web. Wouldn't want my kid associated with a pig, even if it comes from a great book.), Ferdinand (as I said, it's got a charm, but it's not my favorite.)

New List: Gordon, Reuben, Warren, Joseph, Timothy, Carl, Coby, Derrick, Harry

Love: Harry (I love Harry Potter, so you can't go wrong), Gordon, Warren

Like: Joseph (a little stuffy but like the nn Joe), Carl (reminds me of Walking Dead but not bad), Coby (I can't decide if this was a typo from Colby or is it spelled like Kobe... regardless, both are decent names)

Lose: Reuben (It is a decent name but I cannot get over the sandwich connection), Timothy (eh), Derrick (every derrick I have met are entitled and/or rude)

New List: Harry, Gordon, Warren, Joseph, Carl, Coby, Bennett, Wyatt, Matthew
