Middle Name for Reid!

My husband and I have a son named Stanton and are expecting our second child. If it is a boy, we would like to name him Reid. Do you think that Reid and Stanton flow well together? If not, what other names might you suggest? If we stay with Reid, what middle names would you suggest? Our last name is pronounced Cha-cow-Ski.

Ideas for middle name for Reid

Reid Walker

Reid Patrick

Any other ideas?

Thank you so much for your help!

I love Reid with Stanton! I think that they go fantastically together.

As for middle names, I like the combo with Patrick over that with Walker when the first and middle names are said alone because Walker is very flowy while Patrick makes it a bit... punchier. If that makes sense.

But I think that I may like the flow with the last name better with Walker because they -er flows into the Cha- better than the -ck.

It's a tough one and I wasn't very helpful, but I think that the first name is great :)

With a surname-name like Reid, I think you need a traditional given name (preferably one that isn't often found as a surname) in the middle spot, or you get the "reads like a law firm" problem. I'm thinking something like Albert, William, Michael -- or Patrick.

May we ask what Stanton's middle name is?

I think Reid & Stanton are great together!

If you were asking about Patrick Chachowski as a first name, I'd probably say it was a bit stumbly flow-wise because of the chri/ck/ch/ck/ki sounds.   pa-CHRI-CK-CHa-CKow-sKI.  However, Reid Patrick is lovely and I think the chri/ck/ch/ck/ki issue isn't as problematic if we're talking about middle/last.

Reid Walker is also very nice, though I think I prefer Reid Patrick just a tiny bit better.

Some other suggestions I think could work-Reid Owen, Reid Alexander, Reid Alistair, & Reid Parker, which seems like a Patrick/Walker cross to me.

Thank you for confirming the name Reid with Stanton. Is Reid becoming a popular name now? We are trying to stay away from very popular names.

Stanton's middle name is Benedict. Only because it was a family name. It was my husband's decision to use this name. I have no strong desire to adhere with Saints names. I was looking for a strong masculine name that flowed well with Reid Czajkowski (pronounced Cha-cow-ski).

I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Reid is gaining in popularity, but I wouldn't call it popular.  In 2000 it was #438 and is up to #296 last year, which means it was given to 1,118 boys last year.

Are there any family names from your side that you might want to use as a middle this time?  I think that could provide a nice balance to using Benedict last time.

Unfortunately, there are no family names to use for boys. The only family name we have left to use is London which I thought should be used for the girl's name. We were debating on Catherine London or Ann London (first name with unknown middle name at this point).

I do agree with all that Reid Patrick sounds wonderful!
