Neither one sounds like a first name, much less for a girl. Some girls could no doubt wear these names with pride, but most I suspect would just find them a source of irritation.
Harding is an unusual choice. I think that Kennedy, Reagan, and Madison are all better presidents' names for girls.
Eww. These manage to combine all of my naming pet peeves: androgynous/boy-gone-girl, surname-as-given-name, and misspelling.
Harding, as in Tonya, the figure skater who had her rival attacked? On a girl, that's the first thing that comes to mind.
Wrighting will forever be needing to spell it for people. I predict that if anyone actually named a daughter this, the poor girl would ditch it first chance she got.
Oooh. I find Harding slightly the better of the two, and possibly she could use Hattie as a nickname?
Wrighting I've never met as a surname, and the fact that it sounds like "writing" would make it very difficult through school and beyond. On the other hand, it would be quite cool if Wrighting ended up as a writer!
I'd assume they were the mother's surname/maiden name, but they'd be better off used as a middle name.
