Names with "r" as the third letter

I'm struggling to find a list of names with "r" as the third letter. Both boy and girl names are appreciated :)

Do you have access to a command line?

Download a file of names (such as https://www.ssa.gov/oact/babynames/limits.html) and then search it using:

grep [A-Z][a-z]r yob2017.txt

That will output every name that meets these criteria. There are were 3497 names in 2017 that had an R as the third letter: too many to post here!

You can also do it in Excel by doing a "begins with" filter and the characters "??r" (the question marks mean any single character).

I can't help but be curious as to the backstory for this particular criteria!
