Need a middle name for this character

Pebbles is a four year old little girl of Irish descent, she has light red hair and green eyes with a dust of freckles across her nose. For being only four years old, Pebbles has had a hard life already, at six months of age her mother abandoned her behind a diner, leaving only a note stating the little girl's name and that the she was sorry. Pebbles was taken to the Miracle Angels adoption agency where she currently still is until she can be adopted.

Would a mother who named an infant "Pebbles" even bother with a middle name? I think that instead of a middle name, what you need is a "proper" name for the child, bestowed by an adoption agency employee, or perhaps by someone at the diner. I'm thinking something fairly dated to the 1970s-80s (when a caseworker and diner waitress would've been naming their own babies): Shannon, Tracy, Tanya, Brandi, Kristin, Meghan. Of these, Shannon seems especially appropriate, because it's a river in Ireland. Or perhaps she could've been (re-)named after the person who found her behind the diner, who was presumably an older adult: Donna, Debra, Diane, Pamela, Lori, Tina, Tammy. Of these, Pamela works well because it starts with the same letter as Pebbles.

I agree with HNG - with a name like Pebbles, would she have a middle name? (I think Pebbles is an awesome character name btw). I think her proper name should start with with a P as pebbles does, but I can't think of any good suggestions right now.

Maybe Pebbles is after the Applebee's diner she was found behind?

Penelope could also work.  Or Miriam, the sister to Moses, another lost-and-found baby.  Miriam also has that bitterness meaning associated with it.

What year was she born? Was she named for the sweet, redheaded baby Flintstone? If so, I would imagine using another classic TV or cartoon character's name would work: Pebbles Tabitha (from Bewitched); Pebbles Marsha (Brady Bunch); Pebbles Ginger (Gilligan's Island, and bonus, another redhead); Pebbles Daphne (Scooby Doo, and another redhead); Pebbles Smurfette (if you wanted to be really mean); Pebbles Olive (Oyle); Pebbles Jessica (Rabbit, yet another redhead); Pebbles Ariel (Disney even has a ginger princess!).

And, just for fun, lots more potential cartoon/illustrated redheads, in no particular: Annie (Little Orphan) or Anne (of Green Gables) or Ann (Raggedy); Jane (Jetson); Josie (and the Pussycats); Wendy (of hamburger fame); Ivy (Poison, from Batman); Merida (Brave); Jessie (Toy Story 1&2); Kim (Possible); Pippi (Longstocking); Fiona (Shrek); Brenda Starr (girl reporter--could use first or last name there; I think her baby was actually named Starr); Sonja (Red).

Anything there fit?
