New name combo
I overheard a young mama calling her daughter at an event. I think she was calling her Etta Jane. I LOVE Etta but the combo made me think of Etegere'. It could have been Ella Jane, and that is cute too. What do you think of these two combos?

I like Etta or Ella with Jane. I'd give the slight edge to Etta, since it's less common.
I also just read a book where the main character was Enna. I quite like it because it's pretty in its own right AND it's the reverse of my middle name (Anne). But, I think since I already have an Eleanor, Eleanor and Enna is too matchy for me.
Nice, you don't hear that double-cute style much in the U.S.! I think parents here are afraid of a countrified "Daisy Mae" effect. It's a hot sound in England, though -- Ella-Mae and Lily-Mae in particular.
@ Laura Wattenberg- I really love the new Forums! thanks so much!
etta-jane also calls to Etta James, which is an awesome connection if you like her music. Really graceful combination.
Etta Jane is cute. It reminds me though that there was a singer named Etta James. She died in Jan of this year so maybe the baby was named in honor of her or her music.
Both combos are very pretty! I had to look up what an etegrere was, so I doubt it's too problematic a similarity.
I like Etta and Etta Jane is cute. I does remind me strongly of Etta James though as previous posters have mentioned.
I think I like Etta better than Ella with Jane, but both are cute. I had to look up etegrere, even though I apparently own two of them, so I highly doubt that would be an issue. Like others, Etta reminds me of Etta James.
Etta Jane and Ella Jane are both great! I think there are probably a bunch of X-Jane combos that would sound nice.... could be the X-Lynn of the next generation!
