Opinions on Brighton

i recently fell in love with the name Brighton for a girl and I would love to hear people’s opinions on it. I am from England so I do know the connection with the seaside holiday destination :)

Not really keen on the name even for a boy, sorry I don't like it for a girl

Brighton isn’t my style for a boy or girl either but would fit right in with other contemporary names I think. There’s a boy named Britton in my daughter’s preschool class. Being unfamiliar with the name, I assumed it was a girl before I saw him. Britton feels slightly more like a person name to me (probably because of Brittany) than Brighton does and has the option of Brit as a nickname. But I think Brighton is useable if that’s what you really love.

I don't love the name. Did you have a nickname in mind that would go with it?

I think it’s cute! Very similar to the more established -ton names, like Leighton. Why not Brighton? And most importantly, if you love it, go for it!

I actually love Brighton! I don’t know if I would ever be game enough to use it but it is such a nice name. I love it for a girl. I think because Brighton is a unisex name a very feminine middle name would be beautiful. What about Brighton Sophia, Brighton Lucy, Brighton Rosalie?
