Our twin girls!

A while ago I've asked for your help to name our twin girlies! I haven't really had the time to post anything up until now (although I am still a silent reader whenever I can spare a few minutes)

Our twin girls are two beautiful, healthy babies! Joining sisters Matilda and Maisie, we named them Leonora & Charlotte, giving each one their own initial. To keep the family pattern alive we chose M names as middle names: Leonora Marlene & Charlotte Marianne.

Thanks again, you all have been so helpful!

Oh, I remember that thread: Leonora and Marianne are both direct honor names, right? I adore the symmetry but lack of matchiness of your choices, and thank you for the update!

Thank you! Yes, Leonora and Marianne are both direct honour names with Leonora being from my side of the family and Marianne from his.

I'm SO glad that you came back to update us! I was rooting really hard for Leonora so I'm very excited to see that you used it! I love both combinations and also love how the girls' names all work together. I don't know what nickname has come about for Leonora (or, if one has at all.  Nora? Lea? Lena? Norie?), but I am all about the incredible combination that is Tillie, Maisie, and Lottie! Those are sisters who frolick in fields of wild flowers and have marvelous adventures together.

Tillie, Maisie, and Lottie's sister-nickname ought to be Leonie. :)

Right! I was hung up on the two syllable rhythm :)

Sounds like a family that the Penderwicks meet on holiday! For those with kids in the preschool to tween range I recommend this series as a read-aloud, this is the first series that has captured the interest of all of my older kids (ages 3-8) simultaneously, and it's fun but not too exciting for bedtime. (The sisters there are Rosalind, Skye, Jane and Elizabeth-called-Batty... But the books are also engaging for boys.)

OP, congratulations on great name choice!

thank you! I'm so excited that we used Leonora, too! I love both their names so much and never thought we'd get as excited about their names as we did with our first two.

While Charlotte immediately turned into Lottie to most friends and family members, there's not really one that stuck for Leonora. Her oldest sister keeps calling her Leni with a long E 'LEH-nee' (sorry I'm terrible at writing out names - or words in general - as I pronounce them) and I've come to really love that nickname

Congratulations! So glad you updated us and join the others in being delighted you ultimately went with Leonora. You have an extremely well-named family!

Why thank you! As much as I adore the name Eleanor I'm glad we went with Leonora! It suits her perfectly! Also this way each of the girls is carrying a direct honour name
