Speaking of hurricane names, I had a little fender-bender in a parking lot yesterday (a pickup truck backed into me while I was standing still waiting for a UPS truck to stop blocking the aisle).  When I called my insuror to report the problem, the agent gave me her contact info including her name Katrina. We got to discussing her name, which turned out to be such a liability in the insurance claims field that her supervisor suggested that she go by her middle name Marie.  The problem apparently resolved itself over time, or at least she is calling herself Katrina again.

interesting story. katrina appealed to me as well, but the long lasting duress it caused, changed my mind. glad she can 'be herself' again. i remember when Andrew hit; that was devastating as well. however, the name must be so long-used and widespread, that i did not notice people shrinking away from that one.
